2021

Exhibition curated by AGIL - Ilhavense Graphic Association and 23 Milhas

The "Braços" exhibition took place between 5 may and 5 septembe of 2021 in partnership with 23 Milhas. This exhibition proposal was materialized in the meeting of ten projects from ten collectives, which included AGIL, from different regions of the country, and whose practices represent a way of doing and thinking the participation in the city. The exhibition programme included four workshops and three conversations that took place in the space through the mechanism conceived by AGIL - the "Ágora".

AGIL is the Ilhavense Graphic Association, a collective and independent project of community activation through artistic practice, starting as a means of production and democratization of languages and discourses. It inhabits the historic centre of Ílhavo and seeks, through daily work in the print works, editing its production, to learn in a workshop environment and to programe in order to create a meeting point. It seeks to become a device of critical, ethical and aesthetic thought.

Together with AGIL's Image team, it was necessary to create some graphic elements of communication among which: the poster of the event, the exhibition information boards, communication layouts for the digital platforms, room sheets... Based on the stamps made through forms of the "Ágora" were created textures, with the help pf collaborative and experimental exercises with all the members of the association. It was also made a typography for the exhibition, also based on this concept.
