Bárbara M. Silva was born in 1998 in Aveiro, Portugal, where she was raised. In 2019 she completed her licenciate’s degree in Design from the University of Aveiro, where the contact with such disciplines as Aesthetic, Communication Theory and Semiotics contributed to her development of a more structured thought regarding the creative process which was key to her decision to continue her studies in Plastic Arts in the Fine Arts Faculty of University of Porto, which she completed in 2021. There, by following a daily studio routine has revealed to be important to the creation of a fluid and continuous creative process. Through this experience, she has defined her position as a designer artist, by developing her own language and thoughts, articulating both for a more complet and solid work. Participating in cultural projects such as AGIL (graphic arts) and GrETUA (theater, performative arts) has allowed her to apply her learnings and working with other designers and artists has provided for the maturity and further development of her technical and asthetical skills. In 2022, she worked in graphic design and ui/ux design at studium. creative studio, in the center of Porto. She is currently working at Kantar, an international company based in London, as a Digital Designer in the role of Learning Administrator. Between graphic design and the visual arts, she has grown as an interdisciplinar artist for whom the drawing practice is always the starting point for creativity.
